Our students take the stage for the annual recital in June. We hold this at James River High School as a fundraiser for the JRHS Choral Boosters. With beautiful lights, costumes, and plenty of applause, our dancers have a blast!
RECITAL 2020 – FRIDAY-SUNDAY June 5 – 7.
We don’t want our recitals to get too long, so we have divided our classes into 5 different shows.
A full list of show divisions is available at MKSD. Please check our “Recital Headquarters” in the lobby. We try our best each year to accommodate siblings and try to get them into the same show. It is nearly impossible to make this happen for our entire student body. In the event that you are scheduled for more than one show, we discount the tickets for subsequent shows.
Dress Rehearsals are at James River High School the week prior to the performance. Full costume, hair, and make-up are required. You may photo (no flash) and/or video the rehearsal.
Students will have assigned tables in the open commons to sit at with their classes. MKSD staff will bring them to the theater and stage for the performance. Once you have checked your child in with the class helper, you may go and watch. Return to the table for pick up following your child’s performance.
On the day of Performance, your child will have an assigned dressing room, or table in the closed commons. Please check your child in with the class helper, and then find your seat. We recommend allowing extra time for parking, and for your child to use the restroom.
Our students are all brought back to the dressing room following the “curtain call” at the end of the show. Please return to the dressing room for pick up and to sign your child out. If you wish to pick your child up prior to the curtain call, that is fine. Just be sure to communicate this with the class helper.
Our Dress Rehearsals and Performances have many concession and vendors present for your convenience. Snacks, Pizza, Flowers, you name it! We also sell tickets at the door. However, we recommend purchasing in advance to avoid the line! Seating is general admission. We open the audience 30 minutes prior to Showtime for seating.
