Rebecca McNamara

Dance Instructor

Rebecca McNamara began her dance training at the age of three at Fredericksburg Ballet Centre, where she developed a strong technical foundation and a lifelong love of dance. She went on to perform a variety of classical roles, including Cinderella in the full-length ballet, as well as Clara, the Snow Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Rebecca has trained under Gigi Russeau, Marianne Kelley, and the late Arnott Mader. She further refined her skills at the Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts summer residential program. Rebecca continued her training at Virginia Commonwealth University, studying under Susan Massey, Scott Putnam, and James Frazier while earning her degree in Mass Communications, which she completed Summa Cum Laude in 2008.

Though ballet is her foundation, Rebecca has experience in a variety of disciplines, including contemporary, modern, jazz, character, musical theater, lyrical, and cheer/pom/dance team.

Rebecca is passionate about inspiring young dancers and creating a positive, encouraging environment in the studio. She believes deeply in sharing the joy of movement and helping each student build confidence, artistry, and a lifelong love of dance.
